Biography

    Hallo everybody, welcome back to my blog! this time I will tell you about one of the kind text, that is biography text which delivered at the meeting on December 29, 2021.

Definition of Biography

    Biography is a text that contains the life history of famous figures which is more complex than just a curriculum vitae and job data. Biography consists of two words, namely "Bios" which means life and "Graphia" which means writing.

    The biography describes the life of a character from childhood until he grows up, even until he finally dies. All services, works, and things produced by a character are also clarified.

The Purposes of Biography:

1. Through this biographical text, you can enrich your knowledge and be an example so that you can live a good life and fill your life through useful works, both for yourself and for others.
2. The biographical text tells an experience so that the reader does not repeat what the character did.
3. As a role model for readers, contains information based on facts on characters, contains facts about a character's life experience in solving problems, knows and understands other people's characters and learns a lot about other people through other characters.

Types of Biography:

• Based on permission: 

1. Authorized biography = made with the permission of the character being told in the text.
2. Unauthorized biography = made without the permission of the character being told in the text.

• Based on content:

1. Journey of life = it is about the life journey of the character being told in the text, usually the author can determine the point of view of the story to be told.
2. Career journey = contains the career journey of the character being told in the text.

• Based on the writing material:

1. Journalistic biography = the writing material is obtained through the results of character interviews, either with the main character to be told or supporting characters, such as family or relatives of the characters.
2. Politic biography = the main theme is politics. In making it, the author needs to collect various research materials that are in accordance with the political theme of the character.
3. Intellectual biography = the writing material is obtained from research results. Intellectual biographies are written in a scientific style.

• Based on the publisher:
  

1. Subsidy book = created and published by the relevant sponsor. Starting from the cost of production to publishing, all borne by the sponsor.
2. Book Itself = created and published by the publisher itself. All costs are borne by the publisher and sold to a wide audience.
