Hallo everybody, welcome back to my blog! this time I will tell you about one of the reading techniques, that is narrative text which delivered by Sharla A.T, Zulfanisa N.L, Marchel A.P, and Ferdyan Y.P at the meeting on December 8, 2021. Let's get started!
What is Narrative Text?
Narrative text is a type of the text that give an fantasy/fictional tale with the target of entertaining. Narrative text is not true story because it is based on the imagination of a person or group.
Characteristic of Narrative Text
- Using past tense.
- Using conjunction for sort events.
- Using nouns to replace pronouns.
Generic Structure of Narrative Text
- Orientation is an introduction that explains abot who, where, and where the story is told.
- Complication is the beginning of a problem that eventually causes the peak of the probelm or what is commonly known as climax.
- Resolution, this part is the last past of the story, in the form of a solution to a problem that occurs. There are various solutions to this problem, ranging from a good ending, a bad ending, to a hanging ending, depending on the type of story itself.
- Re-orientation is an optional part, in the form of a moral message or teaching that the author wants to convey from the story.
